Bruce, my apologies for the delayed response. I'm behind schedule, but am working on it now. That whole thing called life got in the way! I've written several scenes this week. Thanks for asking!

First, there is no better time than now to get started. If you want to write, why wait?
With that said, if you are planning to write fiction, do some homework on fiction writing before you dive in head-first. A good book along these lines is "Foundations in Fiction." Learn how to develop characters, how to "show vs. tell", etc. I've done lots of public relations writing over the years, and fiction writing is very different than anything I have ever done. It is more art than science. I had a lot to learn when I started.

I am currently working on two things:
(1) Drafting initial notes for book two in the "After the Republic" series. Lots of interesting ideas for this one. :-)
(2) I am in the very early stages of writing a book on small business public relations.

I was an avid reader as a child, and always had in the back of my mind that I would write a book one day. The desire to write had largely faded from my mind until I read two books, "When No One Was Looking" and "The Treason Blade", both authored by my friend Jenny Rebecca Keech. Reading her books re-ignited my own desire to write.

I love America and firmly believe that I had the privilege of growing up in the greatest nation on the planet. After the Republic touches on my worst fears for the future of our nation (which is a republic, not a democracy) and forces the characters to consider how they will respond when those fears become reality.
