Margaret R. Taylor That would be Cannon Fodder. I got the idea while I was in college, watching the miniseries Neverwhere with some friends. The Marquis de Carabas pulls a neat trick with a magical egg in that story. I got to brainstorming all the wonderful ways that could go wrong. The magical egg turned into a koanu nut in Cannon Fodder and the rest of the plot mushroomed around it.
Margaret R. Taylor I don't know. I get the initial idea for a book and I get really excited, which provides the energy to get started. But how do I keep going on a long project? Maybe because I've been writing for so long and the habit is so deeply engrained. It would hurt not to write.
Margaret R. Taylor Haha! It's too early to give too many details, but it's going to involve robots. Lots of them. I'm planning a sequel to Cannon Fodder later on, too.
Margaret R. Taylor Write. Get your butt in a chair, drink coffee, do whatever it takes for you to sit down and write. Finish your project.
Margaret R. Taylor The armchair surfing! Writing a book is way cheaper than the cost of airfare to a foreign country, but you get to go to a new, imaginary place and meet new people.
