Nicholas George I'm reading Mark Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" as preparation for reading Percival Elliot's "James". Also on deck are "A Killing on the Hill" by Robert Dugoni, "Proof of the Pudding" by Rhys Bowen, and "Murder on the Page" by Daryl Wood Gerber.
Nicholas George My mother passed on when I was very young (six years old) and my sister and I were never told the real reason for her death. We were told she had arthritis, which we both knew didn't kill people very often. We later figured that she probably had lupus. Why we weren't told that (perhaps because we couldn't understand?) we don't know. Maybe the doctors themselves were baffled. I can definitely envision a mystery where the victim's death is not what the doctors affirm.
Nicholas George I love meeting readers and other writers, but the best thing about being a writer, for me, is that it activates my imagination. I love creating characters and intriguing situations, and traveling to other lands. When I'm really in the flow, I become as much of an audience as my readers, often surprised by what my characters say and do!
