After a career in journalism and corporate communications, I plunged into my dream career: mystery author. I used two of my passions--long-distance walking and popular music--as inspiration. The third book in my "Walk Through England" mystery series, "A Crushing Walk in Cornwall," comes out in March 2026. The first book in my Adam Parrall series (Adam's a retired rock drummer), "You've Lost That Livin' Feeling," will be released in January 2026. ...more

We were told she had arthritis, which we both knew didn't kill people very often. We later figured that she probably had lupus. Why we weren't told that (perhaps because we couldn't understand?) we don't know. Maybe the doctors themselves were baffled. I can definitely envision a mystery where the victim's death is not what the doctors affirm.(less)

A Crushing Walk in Cornwall

Rick Chasen's adventures on British walking trails continues with A Crushing Walk in Cornwall where he and Billie encounter a very unusual murder, and an equally unusual murderer. Writing about Cornwall--a beautiful corner of England with a rich history--was almost as enjoyable as being there myself. I also got the chance to explore Rick's continued relationship with Mike Tibbets. Read more of this blog post »
