Brandy Scott I get lots of great ideas to write about every day - from conversations, from people I interview for work, from things I read in the paper. When I look back at my writing, I can tell what different parts of the book have been sparked by. But in terms of the inspiration to actually sit down and write - that's not inspiration, that's discipline. And the more I sit and type, the more good ideas I have.
Brandy Scott The idea for Not Bad People came from a real-life letting-go ceremony that I was invited to. A group of women let off Chinese or Sky lanterns filled with resolutions from a friend's balcony. As they flew away, I found myself wondering what would happen if they hit something - and that's where the first chapter of the book comes from.
