This is the BEST question ever! Yes!!! I'm working on it now. I had to do more research for this book than for the last one, but it's finally coming along.
I can't tell you how much I truly appreciate you and this question. <3 <3

Wow...There's so many things that are great about it...
On a day to day note, truthfully, I like waking up whenever I want. I still work longer hours than I did when I was employed by someone else, but I don't have to get up at 4:00 a.m. unless I want to. Or have insomnia, because some book problem (or solution -- yay) woke me up.
I also like hanging out with my writer friends. I find their work fascinating and them fascinating. Sometimes when I hear about their stories I think, "Oh man! I should have written that!"
On a larger note, it thrills me to think that somewhere around the world people are reading my book. That my characters are the ones they've chosen to get to know. That it's my book their reading on the train to work. It's thrilling, especially given the fact that I may never meet most of them. I'm so flattered when people love my book.

It depends. If the deadline is short -- say a client is waiting for something by the end of the day -- I'll do something to switch gears. I'll go for a walk or take a nap or make more coffee.
For longer projects, I might have to actually take a couple of days away from it and do the "Artist's Way" thing and take myself on an artist date. That happened on my last novel. I knew how it needed to end, but I didn't know how to write from the point I was at to that end point. I actually thought I'd have to shelf the book.
Fortunately, I'm an experienced writer, so after the pouty, feel-sorry-for-myself part passed, I could see the manuscript with free eyes. It must have worked. Ten days later, I finished it.
I guess it boils down to that. Take yourself on artist's dates, meaning feed the muse, and take some time off. However, make sure your time off isn't permanent.
