Gordon Kuhn I am reading With The Old Breed by E. B. Sledge. It is about K Company, 3rd Battalion, 5 Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division during the Peleliu and Okinawa campaigns.
Gordon Kuhn Who was involved with giving my nephew away when he was an infant and why was law enforcement never brought in to find him. The boy simply disappeared from our family not be be seen again until I saw him on TV with his son selling tires. He said his name and he looked exactly like my brother. His middle name was my first name. I almost fell out of my chair. I contacted his brothers who then found him living in the same town as they did. The passage of time from when he disappeared to being found was 30 years.
Gordon Kuhn I never thought about something like this. I would have to say that I have many. Currently I would say it is two of the characters from Penny Dreadful: Vanessa Ives and Ethan Chandler.
Gordon Kuhn I was asked by a neighbor who was a cop if I could write a book about a local serial killer that he was able to arrest. I said yes. Simple as that.
Gordon Kuhn I'm not sure. I think I answered this by saying I read poetry and then I start writing. Actually I am writing all the time in my mind so I don't need inspiration.
Gordon Kuhn Working on some sort of nonsense that I don't know where it will take me. Working on Book Two of Predator that has to be done here, the other is just....nonsense. Predator is very serious narrative nonfiction and is about people that I have met along the way.
Gordon Kuhn Simply this: Write, write, write, write. Don't let the world stop you. Don't worry if it is good or bad. Don't edit until done.
Gordon Kuhn I am not sure how to answer this. I suppose being told that what your wrote is good, great would be better. But then there is this nagging question that I always have which is, "Are they telling me the truth?"
Gordon Kuhn I think writer's block is an easy issue. Simply start writing. Write anything. Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow and ..... blah, blah, blah will get your started writing. Or, pick up a book of poetry, if you are a poet, and read something. I like Sylvia Plath for example. I cannot read but a little and my mind is off writing.
