Joe Nobody Yes, there will be a #14. I am shooting (no pun intended) for early Fall, 2017. Thank you for the kind words. Gotta love Bishop and Terri.
Joe Nobody My summer reading list is all non-fiction this year, and to most would seem very boring. It includes Editable Wild Plants by Thomas Elias and Peter Dykeman, and the Complete Guide to Survival Shelters Handbook by Anthonio Akkermans.

Part of my reading list is research for my own novels, part to keep expanding my survival skills.
Joe Nobody Hi Bob,

I guess my answer depends on your taste in fiction. If you like dystopian, then I would suggest the Holding Their Own series (10 books as of right now). Start at #1 (Holding Their Own: A Story of Survival) and plow on through.

Pure action and adventure? The Olympus Device trilogy is popular, with just a touch of Sci-Fi involved.

Secession is a political thriller/action with the second in the series coming soon.

Archangel Drones is standalone, and addresses current-day social issues. Very emotional book.

Apocalypse Drift is also standalone, originally written for young adults and is suitable for everyone. If you like boats...

My books are kind of like my children, there's no way I could ever identify a favorite. Like kids, each has it's own strengths and shortcomings.

All the best!

Joe
Joe Nobody I write about what's on my mind. That can be headlines, what preparations I'm working on, an experience the day before... could be anything that directly impacts my life or thinking.

I've always been motivated by challenges, and taking a topic from news headline to fictional story is often a difficult task. I wake up wanting to get to the keyboard, my head swimming with ideas, scenes, and characters. I feel that if I'm passionate about the subject, it will show through to my readers.
Joe Nobody My most recent release was dystopian fiction. For those types of books, I like to explore all of the things that we take for granted and weave a story around what life would be like without even the most basic services.

Joe Nobody I normally have three to five works in process. Some are fiction, others non-fiction. Right now, in process, I have a new sci-fi novel, book #9 of my Holding Their Own series, book #3 of my Olympus Device series, and an instruction guide all in process.
Joe Nobody I don't really get writer's block. However, there are times when a specific aspect of a plot is troublesome. During these periods, I get away from the book. Exercise, listen to music, walk or enjoying a hobby tends to clear the cobwebs.
Joe Nobody I write to either help my readers with survival skills, or entertain them with self-reliance intermixed with fiction. Writing helps me reach more people than any other media available.
Joe Nobody If you plan to self-publish, treat your writing as a business. Have a plan, be ready to invest, learn from others.

A good story, that people want to read, trumps everything else. That being said, invest in editors, cover artists and proofreaders. I learned this lesson the hard way.

The old adage, "two heads are better than one," applies to book writing. The more eyes that can see your work before you publish, the better.
