Hi Bob,

I guess my answer depends on your taste in fiction. If you like dystopian, then I would suggest the Holding Their Own series (10 books as of right now). Start at #1 (Holding Their Own: A Story of Survival) and plow on through.

Pure action and adventure? The Olympus Device trilogy is popular, with just a touch of Sci-Fi involved.

Secession is a political thriller/action with the second in the series coming soon.

Archangel Drones is standalone, and addresses current-day social issues. Very emotional book.

Apocalypse Drift is also standalone, originally written for young adults and is suitable for everyone. If you like boats...

My books are kind of like my children, there's no way I could ever identify a favorite. Like kids, each has it's own strengths and shortcomings.

All the best!

During these periods, I get away from the book. Exercise, listen to music, walk or enjoying a hobby tends to clear the cobwebs.(less)

When Fiction Becomes Reality

I’ll let you all in on a little secret about authors, specifically, fictional authors.
While many of us want to come across as sage and prophetic, when your fiction brushes to close with reality, it can cause an odd mix of emotions.
My first novel, published in 2011, had a minor sub-plot about a gang in Cleveland, Ohio, that cooked up a clever scheme to rob a bank. The technique was original and re Read more of this blog post »

“Maybe the very heart and soul of the United States has already perished, and if that is true, then I’m already as good as dead, too. So why go quietly? Why go down without a fight? Maybe… just maybe… I can spark a change. I’ve got a chance to open people’s eyes and raise their awareness. I might still salvage a great destiny for America’s citizens, recapture the unique and valuable essence of what was once the land of opportunity.”
Joe Nobody, Secession: The Storm

“He had tried the justice system, the legal system, politics, and the press. Each attempt had been met with inequity and malaise, sweeping him away to a place of irrelevance and misery. The system no longer functioned, and those who had broken it were about to receive a reward of nearly unlimited power.”
Joe Nobody, Secession: The Storm

“But regulating everyone to a bolt-action, small caliber weapon isn’t what the framers had in mind either. When tyranny arms itself with an M16, it’s tough to resist with a hunting rifle.”
Joe Nobody, Secession: The Storm
