I wish I had some. I get discouraged a lot. It's a very difficult business, but I guess you never know so just don't give up. The law of averages says if you keep going you will eventually hit. If it's something you love then just stick with it and keep plugging away.

I'm not actually sure. It just kind of happened. I wanted to write a vampire novel that wasn't a vampire novel, something for people that aren't specific vampire fans. I started the book many years ago and just got it finished and published. I believe my muse may have contributed to the idea as well. It's hard to remember that far back, but I don't take my ideas from other people's work. I always try to remain original. It's important to me.

Well, honestly, I'm always inspired to write. I could sit there and write forever with nothing but the occasional bathroom break probably. Unfortunately, I have to work and pay the bills so that's not an option but there are always new ideas popping into my head and scenes playing out. Sometimes I dream something and wake up thinking it would make a great story, but I don't search for inspiration. It's actually the opposite for me. I don't know how to turn it off. haha

Currently I'm working on many things because I am a scatter brained maniac. I am editing manuscripts I've already finished, hitting up agents and publishers on ones already edited and writing several more. I would love to work on one of the many planned sequels to the novels I've already written but I want people to read the first one first. I believe I'm going to focus on a science fiction story that I started a while back about a clone on a mission of self discovery, or maybe I will finish my novel about an afterlife detective, or my romance novel. I don't know. My brain never stops.

Well, I used to have an incredibly easy solution which was to turn to my wife and say, "I'm trying to write this thing but I've done this and now I'm stuck." and she would go, "How about this..." and I'd I turn say, "That's fantastic! thank you." But I no longer have that option as I have separated from my muse so... I'll probably just go to the things that inspire me, read books by my favorite authors and watch movies that are in the same genre and see if the creative juices start flowing. I know you should never try to force it. The best ideas just happen.

The control. So many things in life you have no control over and that drives me crazy, but when you write...it's your world, your characters and you are in complete control. If you don't want something to go a certain way, you just say it doesn't. If you want someone to fall in love then you just make it happen. It's like creating your own dreams.
