Lila Johnson Hello Dren and welcome!

I meet readers in several ways. As a travel dialysis nurse, I've come across a lot of readers in clinics and hospitals. When they find out that I am a writer, it sparks an interest and a request for the title of my book (s). On one contract that I worked for three months in ICU, the nurses and I got to know each so well that I was invited to attend their book club meeting with my book as the chosen read! I was not only flattered but had a great time.

In restaurants I dine alone but I am never without a book or magazine propped up with my portable book stand. On occasion, someone will stop by to inquire what I'm reading and find that I'm a writer and strike up a conversation.
I've met readers at gift shops, while sightseeing(the back of my truck window reads, writerontheroadway.com and various other places. I carry postcards that have the cover titles printed on them and when people inquire about my writing I hand these out along with other goodies that seem to make people smile.

I look forward to the day I can meet my readers during a book signing or conference. I love the interaction with those that I have met and look forward to more. I am always grateful to readers that have taken the time to seek out my work. It's an honor to know that for a while my characters have become a part of your life.
Lila Johnson I've never had a true writer's block. I think because I stay on the move with road trips to different places or take naps to allow my brain and body to rest, it prevents the 'evil block' to take place.
I usually have different projects going on all the time so ideas are constantly flowing.
Lila Johnson Read as much as possible, write as much as possible when ever possible. Read books about the art, push yourself to learn and apply what you learn. Writer's Digest is a great resource magazine to get one started.
Lila Johnson I have been writing stories as a child until this time. I love the way ideas tumble from my head to the paper. Writing is an escape for me, a release valve that pushes all the stress of my job out and allows my mind to breath.
Lila Johnson I am currently tightening up my next book release, "The Fat Girls Club." My projected release date is up in the air but it will be some time in February 2015. It will be released in print and e-book format.
Lila Johnson I pull inspiration from everywhere. Sometimes a 30 minute walk can trigger ideas that I have to rush home to begin. I love, love, love the ocean, lighthouses and coastlines of both the Atlantic and Pacific. I have been known to awake before the sun rises and sit and write as I await the start of a new day.
Lila Johnson I listen to a lot of conversations; friends, strangers even relatives. I took all that information and rolled it into a common theme and began to write like crazy!
