George L Potter Hi Ric, nice to meet you. The easiest way to get friends on Goodreads is to click on the friends icon at the upper left of your page. You will get a list of your existing friends, and by each of their names is the number of their friends. Click on that number and you will get a list. Opposite their names is a box labeled "Add As A Friend". Check that box and a friend request will be sent to them.
Congratulations on your first published book. Keep up the good work.
George L Potter When I was growing up in the 1940s in a small Louisiana town, there was an elderly lady living in a small bedsitter in our house. I never knew who that lady was, and now 75 years later, there is no one still alive who can tell me the story of this lady.

I am currently working on a novel inspired by that mysterious lady. The novel will follow Randall Oliver, the protagonist from In Search of the Yellow Dog and Treasure of Money Hill, who retires from practicing law in Dallas to return to his hometown. He has forgotten about that lady but eventually learns that she was murdered and the case was never cleared. He gets additional information, but many important facts are missing. He undertakes to solve this cold case, and his investigation runs afoul of the FBI and other three letter government agencies and the investigation takes him to the Middle East, where he encounters multiple persons attempting to do him harm.
George L Potter I am currently about halfway through a sequel to The Treasure of Money Hill. This will be the third in the Randall Oliver series. The sequel will feature more action than the first two books in the series. Although Randall is beginning to age, he maintains his proficiency in firearms and hand-to-hand combat, needing these skills to rescue his colleague, Cheryl, from terrorists and extract a former employee from a hostage situation in Yemen.
George L Potter Love and Perfidy includes characters inspired by people I knew growing up in a small Louisiana town. There were several veterans of World War II whose real-life stories I adapted for my book. My book is fiction, and the activities of these fictional characters during the 30s, 40s, and 50s are products of my imagination. The real war heroes I encountered in my youth provided inspiration for my fictional characters.
