Shelly Goodman Wright My most recent novel is the third in the series, so it wasn't hard.

*Secondly, go back through your work at least three or four times.
*Third, get a few people you know who are readers and will give you HONEST feedback. If they tell you it's good with nothing else, you picked the wrong people. :-)
*Forth, another rewrite.
And while all this is going on, start building a platform. Whether it's short story contests or blogging. Social networking is essential for new writers.
Shelly Goodman Wright Meeting readers and connecting with them. I love including them in the decision making process and welcoming their feedback. It's like my own cheering section and I couldn't do this without their support.
Shelly Goodman Wright Writer's block really isn't an issue for me. There are moments I'm not sure what comes next, so I'll do something else or work on another project. I find doing some kind of physical work helps. Cleaning days, I come up with all kinds of stuff to write. lol
Shelly Goodman Wright Honesty, I'm inspired to write just about everyday. Unfortunately, I home school my three girls and they take priority over writing. The other thing that keeps me busy is marketing my other two novels. Yes, I have a publisher, but all authors have to contribute to that as well if they want to be successful. Finding a balance, isn't always easy. :-)
Shelly Goodman Wright Contracted book three in the Twisted Roots Saga! The final book in the series will be out late 2015!
