Desperate to find clean romance/suspense novels with a Christian twist, Shelly wrote her first full length novel in the spring of 2010. In 2011, she signed A Light into the Darkness (Twisted Roots #1) which listed in the top 25 for the Puddly Awards in 2013. In 2015, the second edition release was nominated for Family Fiction's top ten books of 2015.

Other published works include; The Lost Scrolls (Twisted Roots #2), several short stories, and Legacy (Twisted Roots #3) is scheduled to release November 8, 2016.

I recommend this book often. It was a great read and fun take on Cinderella. Probably my favorite take. I would love to see this series on the big screen.
