I was in the car going to a family member's house, scrolling through book prompts. I remember seeing a picture of a door and thought: What if someone went through a door in their dreams and woke up? I immediately started writing the scene. Then I thought, what story or myth could this apply to and my first thought was Sleeping Beauty. What if that was how she woke up from the sleeping curse, and from that point on Curses of Lavender was born.

Retrace my steps. I like to reread previous chapters. If that doesn't work then I usually need some space from the book.

Just keep writing and don't look back. Ideas grow and shape over time and no matter how hard you try it will never be perfect on the first go. So don't worry about making it perfect and just write. The "making it perfect" part will come later.
