How do you deal with writer’s block?
Steve Kemper If I'm having trouble writing, the cause is usually one of two things: either I'm bored and don't really want to do the work, or I don't yet know what I think and so I can't express anything clearly. Once I identify the cause, the solution is obvious. For boredom, bear down and finish. For uncertainty, do more research and thinking.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Steve Kemper While researching another story, I ran across a reference to Burnham as "the great American scout." I'd never heard of him, and the phrase snagged my interest.
