If I'm having trouble writing, the cause is usually one of two things: either I'm bored and don't really want to do the work, or I don't yet know what I think and so I can't express anything clearly. Once I identify the cause, the solution is obvious. For boredom, bear down and finish. For uncertainty, do more research and thinking.
