A question but first an explanation. Lermantov is my favorite Russian author. Where is your thesis on him published? How can I go about getting a copy? His life paralleling Pushkin's fascinates me. As well as his time in the Caucasian's. If only he had survived his duel may be more people would have recognized his work.

I agree he's a greatly underestimated writer - what he could have achieved had he lived - but fate dealt him a cruel blow. It is ironic that the duel in 'A Hero of Our Time' and the poem 'The Dream foreshadow his own tragic death. Hence the link to the Scots seer, Thomas the Rhymer!
