I am a retired executive principle engineer from Xerox. I have been mentoring an autistic student for over 2 years he now has a masters in software engineering. He has BS EE too. Very high functioning. He expressed an interest in becoming a priest. I contacted the Jesuits they made one phone call to Alex and an hour meeting then rejected him. Allen Martin Bair I'm sorry, I just saw this question. The Jesuits aren't the only way to enter the priesthood. For Roman Catholics, the beginning of the priesthood is a process of formation that can last for years before entering seminary. If he is Roman Catholic, I would recommend he begin speaking with his local pastor or diocesan office and express his desire to enter the priesthood. From there it will be a process of spiritual formation for them to determine whether or not he is a suitable candidate. The candidacy process lasts for years, so be prepared for that. There is also the diaconate in some Dioceses which is also an ordained order that is one step below the priesthood. In general, pastoral positions are difficult for anyone with ASD to enter because of the socially intense component and require a great deal more prayer and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
