Answering this would be to give the plot away!! I am not sure my own life has too many mysteries, but life throws up plot ideas when you least expect it.

Getting something written. I also enjoy talking to people about writing and sometimes run creative writing classes which can be a lot of fun.

Not that gritty. My previous works are police procedurals. But "Dead in the Water" is primarily told from the point of view of Doug Mullen - he is new to the private eye business, ex-army, ex-runaway, struggling human being. It is set in Oxford, but town rather than gown. He is a nice guy in a tough world. Hope that covers your question!

I've been working on some short film scripts through the summer. Two have been shot, though they are both still in post-production. As for crime fiction, I have another Oxford-based one partially written (approximately one third of the way through), but this time focused on a private detective rather than the police.
