Software development is based on logic and discrete math, but it is a highly creative process. Some developers would argue that point. I would point to the artwork on the whiteboards that developers use to design applications.
Creative writing still has the same components. We are bound by rules of grammar and principles of good storytelling. Yet, every storyteller has their own voice.
