Sherrie R. Cronin Hi Siobhan. No, Goodreads only allows giveaways for books that have been released in the last six months so none of my novels are currently eligible. I am working on the sixth novel now, but it will not be available until later in the year. If you are interested in getting a reviewer's copy of any of my books, please send me a direct message and let's talk. Thanks for your interest in my work!
Sherrie R. Cronin Hi Rob. Thanks for the note on Goodreads. Yes my dad was Francis Roth. His maternal grandmother was Margaret Urban, daughter of Mike and Elizabeth (Fisher). His paternal grandmother was another Margaret Urban, daughter of George and Anna Elizabeth (Stang). I think these two ladies were related.

My father did have Urban cousins, and on both sides, but they would all have been second cousins, unless one of his parent's sisters married into the Urban family also. I guess that is possible as all this happened in the very small town of Pfeifer Kansas. If so, then our dads were indeed first cousins, and either Jacob Basgall or John J. Roth was your dad's grandpa too.

I ask because I have photos of all four of these families ..... and a picture of one of your grandparents as child or young adult.

Of course I would love a copy of the photo you have. If you can send it digitally please do, and if you are willing to send it via USPS that would be wonderful. If you can identify our common relative, I'll be happy to return the favor with a photo of them.

Thanks for contacting me! -- Sherrie

Sherrie R. Cronin Hi Noelene. Sorry to be so slow in answering your questions but I have been moving from Texas to North Carolina over the past week and a half with very limited internet access. I ordered your book from the publisher before I began the move. It generally takes six to eight weeks for a book to arrive. Later today I will try to find tracking information on your specific copy. That information isn't always available but I will send you what I find out. I appreciate your interest in my work and hope that you will enjoy the book.
Sherrie R. Cronin Hi Sarah. It's exciting for me to give books away too. Your copy of c3 will be off to you shortly and I hope that you enjoy it. If you do have a question for me as you read it, please ask! Thanks for contacting me.
Sherrie R. Cronin That is an odd question. I need inspiration to bathe and pay my bills and wash a load of towels. Writing is what I do whenever I let myself do what I want; it's what I do in my head half the time when I'm doing something else. It doesn't seem to require inspiration as much as it needs an occasional off switch so I can relax or focus on other things.
Sherrie R. Cronin I'm starting book six in a collection of novels that actually grew out of a short story idea I had years ago. My first vision was of a pithy 3000 word look at human capabilities and how we all develop super powers of sorts when we really need them. When I couldn't get it to work I decided it needed to be a novel. Turned out it needed to be six novels.

Sherrie R. Cronin It depends on the cause. For me it's usually that I've been ignoring my physical body for too long, and I need to stop and stretch, drink water, eat, walk, pee or rest. Often I need to do all of them. I get really caught up in trying to get a scene just right, and can find that I haven't moved for hours. That just isn't healthy. It seems to me that writer's block is my way of forcing myself to take a break.
The other time I run into blocks is when I'm trying to write a scene for which I don't have enough background. This happened in z2 when I tried to describe a civil war re-enactment, and finally realized that I didn't know enough about one to write about it! I took a break to do some research, and my husband even attended one nearby and came back with video. Of course then I had the opposite problem. I ended up writing pages describing this reenactment and had to cut the scene way back when I edited my first draft.
Sherrie R. Cronin Right now I’m writing d4, the fifth book in this collection of six. I’m looking forward to finishing the sixth book as well, hopefully over the next year or so. I can’t imagine that I will ever stop writing fiction, but I can’t say exactly what will be next after these six except that I have a lot of very different ideas.
