Write. Keep writing. Try to make your draft as good as you can. Study other authors. See what they do. Take and adapt what you like from them, the pace, the twists and turns, the character development. Ditch what you don’t like, the boring stuff that readers tend to skip.

The best thing about being a writer, especially an independently published writer like me, is the creative freedom. I get to decide on the stories I like, the covers, and, more importantly, on the price of the book for my readers.
I love that I can give readers spy thrillers that are smart, exciting, and entertaining. It’s a great way for them to escape their lives, even for a few hours, and to live vicariously through my larger-than-life heroes and heroines.

I try to do something else, different from writing. Go for a walk, if I can. Or answer readers' emails, which is a favorite thing to do and which sometimes I neglect... :-(
If that doesn't happen, I write something further along in the book, something that I know it's going to happen. Then, I can go back and piece everything together.
