Justin Bog Just keep going. Writing is an obsessive hobby. Keep writing. Keep publishing. Keep giving readers your original tales.
Justin Bog Hearing from a reader about how the story made them feel and think about life, the characters. That's so great.
Justin Bog I don't believe in writer's block. There are days/weeks/months sometimes that do pass by where I'm not writing every moment, but I don't blame anything but my own laziness. Writers love to procrastinate though, and this may be what they say Writer's Block is. When I'm finishing a project, I can leave it for even long periods of time, and pick it right back up where I left it. Writer's block sounds terrible.
Justin Bog Thank you, Cheral. Sorry to have only discovered your questions today. Hope this answer finds you. I'm working this new 2017 on horror tales, darker than previous stories I've written. These will be novellas, four of them, published separately with a new short story attached to each of them. I also hope to publish all four together once these are out and about with a linking wraparound story placed before each novella that becomes a fifth story. Ambition is this year's resolution.
Justin Bog Probably something like The Bog Life . . . but I don't believe it would be all that interesting to read since I live a mundane life. The stories I imagine, I hope, are much more lively!
Justin Bog Margaret Atwood uses rich, complex language that twists and turns, and the narrative follows this language to incredibly curious places. Love that. Can't wait for The Handmaid's Tale miniseries. Hope you are doing great.
Justin Bog To help keep the voices in their heads from pinging all the time. To waylay depression and obsession with the writing life, something that does happen when in the midst of writing a story or a longer novel. I'm always thinking of the story, or more than one story, and this becomes tricky. I don't drink so much, never have, but I see others who love to drink. Tequila is my drink of choice. A good margarita.
Justin Bog The strange thing? I have been lucky to receive each and every review. I don't sell hundreds of copies of my books so having such a following is even more curious. I have a small readership for my dark tales, and I hope this readership grows. I definitely tell people thank you for choosing to read any of my stories, but I don't expect a review in return. Never have. If someone likes one of my books, I hope they'll share that. I did do a ton of book/blog tours since publishing Sandcastle and Other Stories, and that helps, but the only thing that really helps is to write more quality stories and get them out there for readers. Hope that these same readers recommend your books to other readers. Thank you for the question.
Justin Bog I'm sorry I didn't see the questions posted here on Goodreads and I'll make sure to check here more often. the last three syllables of my name were already too hard to pronounce for a majority of people, let alone remember and spell, and since I've always been called Bog or Boggy or something like that by friends, I decided to take Bog as my pen name. It's more memorable.
