I remember a few times when my mom, in the middle of an outburst, would say that I always showed up to school soaking wet. That my clothes were drenched. I have a vivid memory of being picked up one morning by a female police officer while I was walking near a pond - nowhere near the school. I can’t help but wonder if that pond was where I went to escape, and if that’s why I so often arrived at school soaking wet. I have no other recollections of the pond. No memories of being drenched and going to school.
