The genesis for this book came to me in a dream- I dreamt the clasped hands. It was not until I was standing in the Sistine Chapel years later looking at Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam that the spark ignited. I wondered what if Michelangelo had painted those hands clasped: What would it mean for mankind? Is God really closer than we think? How would art historians see this message? As an art enthusiast, it was easy for me to create my main character Rose Maning, who is passionate about the life and works of this iconic artist.
