Without wishing to sound arrogant, I more often find I have too many ideas and not enough time. If I do find myself losing focus, I might go for a long walk, take in sights, nature, the world around while thinking or just observing.
I might just go away, take a break and relax, listen to some good music, watch a movie, cook food. Mostly just relax, wind down and then go back to the writing a short while later.

Keep writing, keep reading. A first draft never looks amazing, but it sets the ground work for something better. Keep going, work over it, try to write something that interests you as a reader as well.

Right now-late 2014-I am finishing my second science fiction novel, which I hope to then have published soon after. I am then redrafting my first horror novel which will be published soon after in some form. There is also a more literary novel which is half done, which I will return to in late 2015, along with possibly more short fiction and then other fiction planned. There may be sequels or books connected to Orbital Kin at some point.

Many things in the world around inspire my writing such as news, films, art, politics, travel. Often a small news report or article, something in a scientific magazine, old myths, legends, plays, songs, music.
