If I do find myself losing focus, I might go for a long walk, take in sights, nature, the world around while thinking or just observing.
I might just go away, take a break and relax, listen to some good music, watch a movie, cook food. Mostly just relax, wind down and then go back to the writing a short while later. (less)

It is the 19th and my latest fantasy folk horror novel The Briggar Stone is published and available this day.
This is the last of three initially short novellas I started writing in the covid lockdown time. The other two were self-published in 2022 and both had a focused suspense chiller horror style and atmosphere.
This last novel was intended as something different, Read more of this blog post »

Clive Barker
“I dreamed I spoke in another's language,
I dreamed I lived in another's skin,
I dreamed I was my own beloved,
I dreamed I was a tiger's kin.

I dreamed that Eden lived inside me,
And when I breathed a garden came,
I dreamed I knew all of Creation,
I dreamed I knew the Creator's name.

I dreamed--and this dream was the finest--
That all I dreamed was real and true,
And we would live in joy forever,
You in me, and me in you.”

“[Horror fiction] shows us that the control we believe we have is purely illusory, and that every moment we teeter on chaos and oblivion.”

“We’re too much ourselves. Afraid of letting go of what we are, in case we are nothing, and holding on so tight, we lose everything else.”
