The horror of dogs and stones in 2024
Here we are in August of 2024.
It is the 19th and my latest fantasy folk horror novel The Briggar Stone is published and available this day.
This is the last of three initially short novellas I started writing in the covid lockdown time. The other two were self-published in 2022 and both had a focused suspense chiller horror style and atmosphere.
This last novel was intended as something different, a bridge toward some horror fiction which would merge with and explore fantastical elements and ideas. I looked for and chose a specific small independent publisher to put it out into the world who would take a chance on something unusual and not simply straight horror fiction.
This new book may frustrate, confuse or anger some horror fiction fans. It may also fascinate or successfully entertain others. If you want something slightly fantastical in your horror, perhaps give it a try.

My horror this Halloween...
I did publish a new novella at the end of June titled Wilkford's Rakshasa and you can find it I think you know where. It was not however, the only thing I've been working on and though I was not certain I did eventually manage to finish work on another and get it ready with a great cover and it was published this Halloween. Titled The Woken Bones this second fiction work of the year (more a novel length tale this time) focuses on a young couple -Ally and Lauren who open a cafe together in a small town. The lady who helped them has unleashed a long-feared witch and locals begin to disappear night after night. Lauren too is taken away and Ally must do all she to get her back...
That is my new work but as for Halloween I sat through a movie marathon of classics which included An American Werewolf in London, The Exorcist and finally The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What did you do on the night of ghosts and witches this year? Which great fiction chilled your bones?

The fiction this way comes...
I have not published any fiction since my debut horror novel Northern Souls late 2017/2018 but have been writing and working on a number of projects since. A second full length horror novel has been written but currently sits in limbo until the best form and place is found for it.
A have a draft of the first book in a fantasy horror series and over a dozen short novellas in the works.
This June the first of these horror novellas will be published. Titled Wilkford's Rakshasa it takes place in a cottage on the north coastline of Wales and centres on the tension between a mother and daughter. The mother is dependent on her daughter, obsessive with her religious prayer and worship since the father died. When the daughter starts a new relationship some unwelcome visions and forces impact her. Is she in control of herself? Does something want to harm her and her boyfriend? She could stay in the cottage with her mother but her mother is hiding dangerous secrets...
This June in ebook and paperback.

We survived Halloween...
Hello book fiends. Are you all well? It has been a while since posting here and I am sorry but much has been going on. Finally this October my debut horror novel Northern Souls was officially published on 31st (Halloween) and is available as paperback and ebook now.
The story focuses on a young man named Eric who goes to commit suicide after his girlfriend dies. She appears to him, tells him of demon tribes killing and controlling around the North East of England. He must hunt them down, stop them to save her souls and many others around him.
I promoted the book early at the Liverpool HorrorCon on 7th/8th Oct. with some exclusive early signed copies alongside many famous authors, actors, artists.
With this book I am published as James Parsons.

Revelations of a hidden horror...
Hello all, and we're now in March. Times is moving along quick somehow. I hope you are well and interesting things are happening for you this year.
For me, my first horror novel is going through the production stages and it should be in print after summer I believe.
I will not reveal too much about the story, but I will tell you that it is set in the present day and in the north of England.
More news about this new horror tale in the months ahead. For now, I am putting up new posts on my genrerama wordpress blog ever few weeks or less inspired by horror genre-books, films, games as well as posts about SF and other things.

More than human on new planets beyond...
Well it is at this point when I can reveal just a little more about my new book. I might have already stated that the title is Minerva Century, and it is some kind of space opera science fiction.
It is a story about two main characters - Dale and Cathy- out in a future space, near a new adopted human planet, Minerva. Among space station, between humans and cyborgs and more, they reconnect when they both confront a mysterious challenge in their lives.
The book is now due to be published at the end of June, and will be available in paperback, ebook and hardback form.

An author around...
We are now a few months into 2016. My new second SF book Minerva Century will hopefully be published in the next couple of months or more, and I am now setting down dates for promoting it.
At present I can tell you that I will be at Dale-Con4 convention in Rochdale in June in the North West of UK, along with a number of famous film and tv sci-fi stars, authors and artists. There will then be other dates and signings after this. More info soon along with publication date of Minerva Century.

Festive times before fiction journeys...
Hello one and all. I hope you will be having a joyful Chirstmas or festive period over the next week or two. No snow here in the UK right now, just rain and some very bad floods in some parts.
Well, I was working on with my new second horror book for a few weeks, but have had to put a stop to that for a while due to things related to the publishing of my second SF book.
The final parts of checking and designing the new book are happening, and I am happy to say that you can probably expect to be able to buy this second science fiction novel early in 2016. I look forward to seeing it in all the formats, including hardback this time, and then promoting it at bookstores and other events. See you in 2016.
