Bryan Mooney I am currently reading Red Notice and then plan to read Truman. I love biographies. Next on the list is the thriller I am Pilgrim
Bryan Mooney Mary-

I read a lot of books, magazines, newspapers and watch a lot of movies. Then I write and write and write. It is like anything else you learn, it takes practice, practice and more practice. But with practice you get better.
Remember first and foremost that you are telling a story. Try to make it a good story, a story you would want to tell your friends. I wrote four books before showing the next one to an editor for review. I can see my writing style or my "voice" improving with each story.

I also love to write short stories. I also enter short story contests, just to practice certain aspects of my craft, dialog, description. Check out the WOW website. The do quarterly contests with a critique of your writing. The stories are limited to 750 words and only cost ten dollars to enter. Great fun.

Lastly, keep it fun and exciting to you. You will never make a lot of money but you can create your own little world and invite people to come inside and share it with you. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Bryan Mooney To deal with writers block, I usually pick up a book and start reading. I love history books and biographies. When writing, I usually have two to three books that I am actively working on and a number of others that I am doing research on. - BDM
Bryan Mooney Are you kidding? You get to create people, places, food, flowers, your own little world. Then you get to put them into impossible dilemmas but then you have to figure out how to get them out. I love to write.

Writing can also be used as a voice to speak out against injustice in the world. My book "Indie" speaks to the horrible abuses and violence against women in India and Pakistan and what one courageous woman did to stop it.
Bryan Mooney Read a lot. Write more. Everyday. Keep a journal of ideas. Don't let anyone dissuade you. Your first book will probably not be your best. I wrote seven books before I had one that was acceptable to being published. I would write a book, celebrate, print it and shove it in a box under my bed. Don't stop. Develop your own voice and style.

I am working on a book titled, Once We Were Friends. The story of two boys who grew up together as best friends and one becomes a cop while the other winds up on death row.
I am also working on a sequel to Christmas in Vermont, as yet untitled.

Also, the story of three brothers who have all lost their wives and their niece wants them all to bring a date to her wedding and also to learn how to dance. A real tear jerker.

Lastly, two others, I am working on a coming of age book which chronicles the life of a young 19 year old travels to Europe during the sixties. And, the story of an angel who accompanies kids to heaven, bring handkerchiefs.

Bryan Mooney I read an awful lot. I read three newspapers a day, at least a book every other week plus research on topics I find interesting. I am always pulling articles out of the paper and magazines to save for ideas for future stories. It is not too popular activity in waiting rooms.
Bryan Mooney For Christmas in Vermont I went to Vermont during the summer but last winter I was stuck in a small town because of a massive snowstorm. Everybody pulled together and helped one another out so I was so impressed . when I got home I started writing about my experiences.
