John Biscello Will you marry me, and promise to be mine forever and ever? Yes, she agreed, one foot in the grave, the other scraping forward.
John Biscello I sit down and do it, according to schedule. One of my all-time favorite quotes, which has become a brain-embedded mantra: "Inspiration is born of hard work, not the other way around." (Constantin Stanislavski).
John Biscello I am getting ready to rewrite a novel for middle-grade readers, titled Adventures of a Young Daydreamer.
John Biscello I don't really believe in it. Nor do I want to give it power to make it an obstacle. That is, when the words aren't flowing, or when I'm having difficulty working on whatever is my primary project or point of focus, I try to A) switch gears and work on something else, B) do work that is related to or pertains to writing in some way, shape or form, C) Sit there and put in the time even if that means squeezing out a sentence or three, at best, or staring fretfully at a blank page.

What I like (well, "like" probably isn't the right word), what I appreciate about Option C, is that regardless of results, the ritual of discipline is being strengthened, and I learn how to to sit through the dry spells and small agonies.
