First, let me apologize for my failure to provide a quick response. I just found your question today.
WOW, that's an interesting question. I like to do historical research and there are family members I never learned about because my dad died at a young age. There is so much limited information that creates a mystery to clearly see the people who form my ancestry. If I were to plot a book based on that history, I'd have to write the story as a period piece; not modern day. For me as a writer that would be difficult to accomplish because of the amount of research that would be necessary to make the story sound authentic. It takes a skill level that I have not achieved to write historical mystery in 1700s.
I hope that I've answered your question. Thanks for contacting me.
Warm regards,

I apologize for the long delay. I just saw this question. It helps if you read the Family Reunion-Wisdom of the Ancestors' series in order. Some of the characters you'll meet in each novel show up in succeeding novels and you would want to know how they fit into each suspenseful scenario. However each novel is written as a stand alone. The sub-series, The Chi-Town Girls (three novels) and The Alex-Mont Kids ( four novels) should be read in order to receive the full affect of the combined stories. I hope this answers your question, but if not, let me hear from you again.

Summer County, South Carolina, where family and close friends are always glad that you've come home. There aren't enough hours in the day to do all of the fun things that can be done there or to do absolutely nothing at all.

When she woke everything and everyone no longer existed. Alone now that the world had been destroyed, she wondered why she survived, until the monster appeared a breath away.

I have not experienced "writer's block", but I have had problems connecting the dots (so to speak) in a story. In that case, I stop trying to force the characters to behave the way I want and just start writing chapters in a different storyline.
The most difficult part of writing for me is knowing where I'm going with a theme. Once I know where I'm going, getting there is usually the easy part.

Having total control over my product is the best thing about being a writer.

Write what you like to read.

The Family Reunion---Wisdom of the Ancestors series is what I'm currently working on. There are thirty-two novels in the series. A Different Frame of Mind is novel #12 of the series. Three new novels will be released in 2018. Three novels are in audio book format. Five more novels are in production and will be released this year.

I really don't need inspiration. I simply love to write stories. The majority of my time is spent writing.
Ann Jeffries
I got the idea for A Different Frame of Mind from current headlines.
