Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) That's a tough one because there are so many fictional worlds I'd enjoy visiting. So, let's go sci-fi and say Arrakis from Frank Herbert's DUNE, and I do something involving the spice.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) Finish Mr. Rochester by Sarah Shoemaker.
White Trash by Nancy Isenberg.
The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson.
Besieged: Stories from the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) It would be a family mystery, because it affected my life through my father. He came from a well-off family, but in the 1940s the family lawyer was caught embezzling money. The morning before his trial, he killed himself in the empty courtroom, leaving no indication where he'd stashed all the money he'd stolen. My father's oldest brother hired investigator after investigator to try and locate the family money, and nothing ever turned up. A real story of taking a secret to the grave.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) It's my first novel, A War of Deception, coming out May 26. I'm excited!
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) This was a great question, and I wanted to think about it. I'll have to say my favorite fiction couple is John Steed and Emma Peel, from The Avengers. They weren't a couple, per se, but their dynamic, his obvious respect for her, his treating her as an equal, her fierceness and fearlessness were definitely models for my two, main characters.

Thanks!

Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) A novel I started during last year's NaNoWriMo. I recently got an idea for a big plot twist, and that meant some re-writing.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) Just write. Don't worry in the beginning about how good it is; just get words on the page.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) You get to enter the heads (of your characters) of so many people different from you; you see things from different perspectives.
Phyllis Anne Duncan (P. A. Duncan) I have a lot of projects going at once. When I'm blocked on one, I switch to another. If it's a widespread block, I read a book on my to-read list, and that usually does the trick.
