I don't think so, but it's certainly possible.

I missed that one, unfortunately. In the early 70s we lived in Frankfurt and visited Paris when we needed to consult with the editor of the International Herald Tribune.
I do know the rue Jules Chaplain but not intimately. Friends live in that area, but closer to Luxembourg Gardens.

I'm entirely independent. I live in Florida but I use a very professional editor who lives in Canada. My covers are designed by a popular cover designer in England, and the proofreader for my most recent book, Finding Pegasus, lives in Australia. I write in Scrivener and format for publication using Vellum. I promote mainly using Amazon ads, and have sold more than 15,000 copies of my three novels since I began in 2012. I seriously doubt a traditional publisher would have done as well.

I'm now working on a sequel to my first novel, Treasure of Saint-Lazare, and one of the neat things about a sequel is that the basic idea and characters are already there. I wanted to expand the story and the action, so I brainstormed with myself (it works) and recorded many, many ideas in Evernote, where I keep everything. Then I filter out the useless ones and write the good ones.

First, try to ignore it. If that doesn't work, a careful re-read of yesterday's work generally helps.
I write longhand, so if that doesn't start well I spend some time typing yesterday's work into Scrivener. Generally that gets the juices flowing.
