Nickie Cochran I was thinking about the holiday season back home in Germany and really wanted to capture the Christmas spirit in my next novel. The story had to be lighthearted, festive, a little sad, and have lots of mischief sprinkled in-between - the perfect recipe for a spirited Christmas novel.
Nickie Cochran If I get stuck in a scene, I grab some scratch paper and move over to the couch for some serious brain-storming. I go through different scenarious and play the "what-if" game, asking a bunch of "why" questions. Eventually, one of the scenarios stands out from the others, wanting to get my attention and I get really excited about writing it. I then shift my focus on that scenario, dig even deeper, and when I think I've gotten to the core of it, I move on over to my desk again and release my words...
