Sue Raymond I would have to say Jean Debois and Su Michael Andrewson - DeBois. Each have a stubborn constitution with a strong will to be self-reliant. However, they soon realize just how much a person will screw their lives trying to be a lone wolf. They realize that a life without the Lord at the helm of that life is a hollow shell, a fake. Only when they turned their lives over to the mercy of the Lord did life become worth living. Even during the most dark and dangerous part of ones life He will always be with you. His rod and staff will comfort you.
Sue Raymond The best thing is to be able to express your most inner thought with those who really want to know and not those who do it out of some obligation.
Sue Raymond I read a variety of genre, watch nature, talk with friends, relax in the Lord's presence.
Sue Raymond My group stopped by Niagara Falls on our way back from a writer's retreat in Vermont.
Sue Raymond I set the work aside and work on something else so that my mind eases up and when you least expect it the next idea will come barreling at you where you will have to stop and at least jot down the idea so you do not forget it. This usually happens right after I fell asleep.
Sue Raymond I am revamping my first three novels in my DeBois Crime Murder Mystery series, working on five other novels and illustration five children's books.
Sue Raymond Whether you are a potter or a pantser, the best advice is to go ahead and write your thoughts out on whatever format you which to start with and do not bother with sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, etc. That will come later. You need to get all your ideas down on paper then you can rearrange any scene that is not in the right place in the story or add to the story. Once your story line is to your liking then go in and edit, correct spelling and grammar. Make sure you do not edit all the character out of your story with editing. Remember people do not speak properly and show your character's actions as much as possible over telling your audience. Once you done all this find someone you trust to tell you the truth about your manuscript. Friends and relatives are nice to have them read your work however they do not always tell you the truth because they do not want to hurt your feelings. You do not want someone that will tear your work apart. You want someone that will be honest when a scene does not work and praise those that does. These people are called Beta readers. Also join a writer's group that inspirers and shares their experience and their help with getting your manuscript published. Have at least a copy editor go through your work, then comes query letters if you want to be traditionally published or Indie published (do it yourself). Always put your best foot forward in dealing with publishers and agents. Remember they will take a cut of the royalties but will front the money for editing, formatting and cover art. Which you will have to choose from the choices they give you then you will have to do your own promotion. With Indie publishing all this falls on your shoulders. That is why you need a good support group to be in so you can pool your resources to produce the best novel you can.
