I noticed the mention of a medicinal solution called "almamenth" in The Last Motley... which is something that also exists in your Chronotrace Sequence. I am curious to know if these two worlds/stories are meant to be viewed as existing in different parts of the same universe?
D.J. Edwardson Indeed, you are correct! Almamenth, the amazing healing salve used so often in The Chronotrace Sequence does make a brief appearance in The Last Motley. The connection between the two worlds is even hinted at more strongly in my short story Spirit of Caledonia.

What does Nagan eat for breakfast? Does he enjoy life at the cottage (or in that area?) and when is the next book due out?
D.J. Edwardson Great question! He's a bacon and eggs sort since moving to Briar's Glen, though in the past he almost always had fish. Portia makes apple fritters on special occasions, usually with apples supplied by Jacob, who has a special knack for finding them growing in the wild.

As for when the next book comes out, it will probably not be this calendar year. So, possibly 2019. Sorry about that. I wish I could finish it sooner, but I've got too much on my plate (to keep with the previous theme) at the moment!

How much fun was it writing The Last Motley?
D.J. Edwardson It was a joy. In fact, this story turned out to be the easiest novel I've written so far. I think the first draft took only around 4 months for me and they usually take much longer. Nagan, in particular was fun to write as I could "let myself go" a little with his dialogue. The editing, now that was a different story!

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
D.J. Edwardson Beren and Luthien. No fictional love between a man and a woman was more pure, more noble, more epic than what these two shared. And the fact that they were willing to surpass any challenge to be together enshrines them forever as the greatest of all fictional couples.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
D.J. Edwardson I just keep writing. I actually have never had writing block as far as I know. When I sit down to write it's time to write. It's a non-negotiable for me.

What are you currently working on?
D.J. Edwardson Book Three of the Chronotrace Sequence. Working title is, "Ascent of the Nebula". This will conclude the three book series and finally reveal the main character, Adan's, past.
