DJ Edwardson traveled a lot when he was younger. These days he’s busy crafting exotic destinations of his own. Although he has written both Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, he likes to say he writes in the “genre of imagination.”

He has a degree in English from Cornell College where his emphasis was on the works of Shakespeare. He’s tried his hand at both acting and directing in the theater, but these days is happiest with a pen in his hand. He lives in Tennessee with his family amidst an ever-growing library of wonderful books.

You can find out more about DJ, his books, and all the crazy things he's invented in his head at www.djedwardson.com.

He's a bacon and eggs sort since moving to Briar's Glen, though in the past he almost always had fish. Portia makes apple fritters on special occasions, usually with apples supplied by Jacob, who has a special knack for finding them growing in the wild.

As for when the next book comes out, it will probably not be this calendar year. So, possibly 2019. Sorry about that. I wish I could finish it sooner, but I've got too much on my plate (to keep with the previous theme) at the moment!(less)

“Though thankless you are and surely undeserving, I leave you with this truth all the same. For it is not what you know, but knowing what's true that matters. Clever men teach many false things.”
D.J. Edwardson, Rimewinter

“for dragons are never entirely satisfied. If they were, they wouldn’t be dragons.”
D.J. Edwardson, Grimbriar

“But that’s the thing, isn’t it?” Zinder said. “There’s not always a fire to come home to. And on those days you need persistence. Sometimes life is pleasant and you hardly notice the hours passing by. That’s the way it is for me at the anvil. But other days you have to scratch your way through with everything you have in you. There’s not always the promise of a warm hearth awaiting you. But you press on. You don’t give up. And then, wonder of wonders, you find the fire’s there, just when you need it most. But if you don’t persist, you’ll never find the fire.”
D.J. Edwardson, Grimbriar

“I can't imagine a man really enjoying a book and reading it only once.”
C.S. Lewis

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.”
Malcolm Muggeridge

“Yet such is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
