My writing partner and I crafted and story-boarded a loose outline of what we wanted to achieve in Copycat. Mostly, however, I'm writing it in the stream-of-consciousness way. Or, for those wondering, I make it up as I go along.

Anything can inspire me. A song. A line of dialogue in a book I'm reading. The lady I met in the waiting room of the cardiologist. Seriously, inspiration can arrive in many strange, but wonderful packages.

At present, I'm working on a paranormal panther shifter romantic comedy called Copycat. My goal is for it to be novella length and publish it this spring/summer (2018).

First, don't give up. If you do, you weren't really meant to be a writer.
Second, surround yourself with a support system that won't just blow smoke up your butt and tell you how great you are. You NEED critics. It'll make you a better author. And that's the goal, isn't it?

Honestly, I deal in a variety of ways depending on how thick the barrier is between me and all the words. Sometimes, taking the dog on a walk cures the problem. Other times, playing music will help. During the severest cases (when I'm under extreme deadline), I've been known to pack a bag and check into the nearest Best Western. Seriously. A change of scenery can do wonders. And when it's just you, a desk, and your laptop with no outside distractions, it can make every difference.
