Just a tease. The throwaway line in Clonelord refers to the fact that they left Oleander surrounded by harlequins on the craftworld. He...probably didn't walk away from that.

Geez, I'm late on this one, I'm sorry. I don't check good reads very often. The answer is no, by the way. I'm not writing anything 40k at the moment.

You...do realise that the cat was kinda-sorta Nagash, right? So, yeah, the cat has, in fact, come back.
Marc Jones
How do we know that the Cat isnt just pretending to be Nagash ?

You...you do realize Arkhan's cat was Nagash, right? Like, it was just a husk, possessed by a fragment of the dark spirit of Nagash. So, no, it's gone. Turned to ashes with Kemmler.
Besides, Arkhan has a new pet--his Dread Abyssal.
Though, Abhorash IS mentioned in the book. As is every character I could squeeze in--the Red Duke, Brunner the Bounty Hunter, Arbaal the Undefeated, Dechala the Denied One, Azazel, Count Mordrek the Damned, Wulfrik, Wurzag, Golgfag, Morglum Necksnapper, Greasus Goldtooth, the White Dwarf, Bugman, Gotrek, etcetera and sundry.
And while I appreciate the compliment, I can think of like three other writers who'd have probably done a more awesome job than me. Thanks though.

I figured it was a hint towards undead cats being a 9th edition race. Maybe Nagash didnt rise, maybe the Cat overpowered the dread lords will , since
I figured it was a hint towards undead cats being a 9th edition race. Maybe Nagash didnt rise, maybe the Cat overpowered the dread lords will , since his return the necromancer has been cleaning himself an excessive amount and building a giant scratch pole of bones.
For what its worth I can think of three other writers who could POSSIBLY do a more awesome job but I know only one writer at BL who can do all the stuff they do BUT with healthy injection of humor.....and undead cats.
Really looking forward to this so thank you in advance. ...more

Vampires...only in spaaaaace!
No but seriously, like with my WHF work, I tried to bridge the gap between the various portrayals of BA in fiction, while sticking to my strengths as a writer. It was a lot different to writing White Scars, I'll say that. Less humor, more introspection.
Also, they'll fight genestealers. LOTS of genestealers.

Ha! No, I don't think so. Especially given what happens to that cat. Though, given that it's a zombie, it could probably come back.
And...possibly. Maybe? Who can say? Stranger things have happened.

For a while I thought it was Neferatas cat from the first vampire counts army book keeping an eye on Arkhan and the return of Nagash.....well u did me
For a while I thought it was Neferatas cat from the first vampire counts army book keeping an eye on Arkhan and the return of Nagash.....well u did mention it seemed to have far greater strength than its slight form would suggest when it went mental on Kemmler.
Maybe this could be a pokemon esque evolution...sure its zombie form is gone but the age of Wraith Kitty is upon us.... ...more

Marc,
Regrettably, it's true--Blood Dragon, the third book in the series, has been cancelled. Essentially, it was bumped from the schedule to make room for a book I can't really talk about yet. It's a shame, but that's the way the ball bounces, sometimes.
If you're curious about the book-that-might-have-been, however, I can direct you to this forum post here, where I outline roughly the first third of the story for Blood Dragon: http://www.thebolthole.org/forum/view...
You'll need to scroll down a bit for it. It's in that last big block of spoilers.
Oh, and I'm glad you enjoyed Neferata/Master of Death. I enjoyed writing them, and it's always nice to hear that folks enjoyed reading 'em.

Marc,
You ever see me at a BL event, feel free to buy me a beer and I'll tell you as many stories as you like.

Thanks for choosing Neferata! Neferata is actually Book 1, and Master of Death is Book 2. Blood Dragon would be Book 3. Too, if you enjoy Neferata, I'd encourage you to check out Mike Lee's Nagash series. Most of the major (vampire) characters in my books are featured in Lee's books, as well.
