I do something else for awhile. Writing, for me, is unpredictable. I can't just sit down and say, "okay, I'm going to write for three hours." When I get the urge, just like an itch you can't scratch, I scratch that itch. It may be in the middle of the night or early, early morning. It's kind of weird like that, but just like that itch, I have to satisfy the urge to write, immediately.

The feeling you get when total strangers tell you they loved your book! That is so awesome. It also inspires you to continue.

Write, write, write, and then write some more. Learn from other authors mistakes. Edit your writing to the point of obsession. Nothing hurts your chances of success more than poor editing. I know. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Everyday events provide tons of thoughts and ideas. Sometimes those thoughts turn into rough drafts. If the rough draft is expandable it may result in another novel. Most, though, are discarded for various reasons.

Movies are the source of my inspiration. I'm an action, thriller, suspense movie addict. Every movie I watch usually sparks an idea for another book. Not a book exactly like the movie, instead a book that provides exciting and sometimes romantic angles that the movies leave out.
