I'm actually working on four (4!!) books for my Veils and Vows series at the moment. They're all in different stages of development from proofreading to the first draft. Let's start with The Promise which is due out May 25th, 2017. This is a prequel novella about Devon Mattson and Olivia Carrington. You might recognize Devon's name from my Blueberry Springs series--he's the brother of Mandy Mattson who creates the award-winning, super-delicious whiskey and gumdrop brownies. Devon has been in a few books, the most recent being Tequila and Candy Drops. (He's Nicola Samuels's good friend.) Readers told me they wanted more Devon! So I decided, okay...let's give him a woman from his past. And what a past Devon and Olivia have! They were college lovers in The Promise (book 0), then meet up again in their novel, The Surprise Wedding (book 1). Both come out on May 25th and my editor and proofreader both agree that The Promise packs a powerful emotional punch.
I hope you enjoy it! (The Promise will be given to my newsletter subscribers starting this month--April, 2017. So go ahead and sign up at: www.jeanoram.com/freebook)

Hi Ankit,
The books in my sweet Blueberry Springs series can all be read as standalones without feeling as though you're missing something--so go ahead and jump in anywhere!
Even the short stories in the Sweet Treats set can be read on their own. (They tie into other novels in the series but everything can be read as an independent, self-contained story.)
:)
Thanks for reading!

Working from home! Worst part of working from home--there's no magic fairy that cleans my desk every night.
Also, I LOVE chatting with other readers, dreaming up ways to make two characters fall madly in love, as well as being my own boss and staying home with my kiddos.

Hi Jean. It's been about forever or so since I have been in contact with you. Wow, you now have ten books under your belt. I thought I was a hotshot having published my second yesterday. I can identify with your comment about the best and worst thing about being home as a writer. I had a desk in one of my extra bedrooms, and I have, as of a month or so ago, lost it to my son and his wife who have returned from Australia after six years absence and are now living at home again, waiting for work. Man, I love them to death, but I am already anxiously waiting for them to find a renewed life. She has a bachelor's degree, two master's and a PhD, and he has just short of a PhD, and neither have jobs. Can you believe that. Their future looks great, but their present really sucks. In the meantime, my work environment leaves a great deal to be desired. So much for working at home, right? I wish you well. I will be making another announcement at AQC about my new memoir. Keep an eye out.

I am currently working on a Christmas novella that is part of the Blueberry Springs series. Readers had mentioned that they wanted to know what happened to Nash after Champagne and Lemon Drops and so this novella checks in with him while also giving Katie--Oz's kid sister--a shot at her own happily ever after. The novella is called Eggnog and Candy Canes and will be out in November 2014.
