“Bella's Destiny developed out of my need to understand and honor my late mother. She was adopted as a very small child, a fact she never shared with me until I was in my early teens.”

My mother was a foundling. We don't even know if the birthday we celebrated was her actual birth date. I know only that her birth mother was from Scotland and that she was adopted by my grandfather when he was in Alaska, working as a Coast Guard officer, with his first wife, who died. Finding out WHO my mother was born to is a mystery that continues to bedevil me and one reason I wrote a story that focused on adoption, though my story had no such mystery.

I avoid it by usually working on two books at a time. If I'm working on A, and am stumped or find I can't solve a problem that crops up, I leave it (allowing my brain to work on it) and go to B, where I write until my brain kicks in with a possible solution to the problem that cropped up in A. That seems to work for me.

The characters making up my latest series, The Lamberts of Pacific Knoll, took up residence in my head and refused to let me sleep! I knew I had to write their respective stories, so... in order to wake more rested, their tales are spooling out.

I've really enjoyed the book "Chance Encounters" It is always a good read when I feeling connected to the character's and I do I this book.
