My mother said I wrote my first book when I was five--after I carefully copied the words in one of my favorite stories. A favorite children's book I still have is a first edition, signed by the author, of MISTY OF CHINCOTEAGUE, perhaps one reason I included reference to it in my indie-novel, PACKAGE DEAL.

Counting my current work as a novelist, I think I've experienced at least five different careers, the first four providing lots of grist for the mill of what my characters do or would like to do. One example? Olivia Brown in GRANDDAD'S HOUSE is a realtor. I was one, too! And realtors show up again in CHOICES and in a new book not yet ready for publication.

I hope you enjoy my stories. I love to hear from readers.

Cross-Cultural Mixes

I have always been intrigued by the differences ( as well as the similarities between and across cultures.) For example, in so many cultures, breads are important additions to many meals. How many cultures can you think of that use a flat bread, often in a circular or oval shape?

This past holiday season, I was treated to two more examples of the mixing of cultures via dress. One might even call th Read more of this blog post »

Kate Vale You're very welcome. I immediately recognized Rhiannon from previous books of yours that I have read. It was a pleasant surprise to see that you made the hero a pro golfer. One of my favorite players to follow and watch on (what else?) the GOLF CHANNEL is Jordan Spieth. :-)

Cathryn Parry Hi Kate,
Thank you for the review. :-)

Sandra Hi Kate,
Thanks for the friend-invite! :)
