Mary Buckham Hi Sharon ~ Next book is WRITING ACTIVE HOOKS: Book 2 which will release in April. Haven't pinned down the release dates or which fiction book will be out next. Keeping that as a surprise. And Micah is batting around some ideas but nothing is nailed down yet. Will keep you posted and thanks for asking!!!
Mary Buckham Hi Kimberly! Thank you for reading and enjoying the series. Makes my day :-) As for Jaylene's story I thought I'd be working on it by now but Alex and Kelly are so demanding. Maybe I'll do a novella of all the rest of the team and create a box set so Jaylene and Mandy and Vaughn and Nicki can have their own stories. They'd be short but it's a start. Would that work for you? Love hearing from readers! Thank you
Mary Buckham Oh yes, Bran will definitely be back Sharon and as soon as Alex's next book. He's been off making his own mischief and some of his decisions, one in particular, is going to change everything for Alex. . . .
Mary Buckham Hi Carmen! Wonderful question. Right now Alex and Kelly are keeping me on my toes (in between the non-fiction books) so their stories are front and center for now. Doesn't mean I won't get to Jaylene's or Mandy's, Vaughn or Nicki's - I just don't know when yet. Thanks for asking!!
Mary Buckham Hi Denise and delighted that you're enjoying the series as much as I am in writing it! Makes my day. As for the release of the next IR book look for late Spring or early Summer. Biggest challenge is Alex is (screaming) recommending I finish her book first so we can find out what's happening with her and Bran, while Kelly is tapping her toe ready to confront Van so I'm trying to keep them both happy which means writing two books at the same time. It'll be a race to find out who wins! I'll let you know when the time comes!
Mary Buckham Sharon ~ next non-fiction book: Writing Active Hooks: Book 2 will be coming out end of March or early April 2015. I'm already working on both Alex Noziak's next story and Kelly McAllister's next story but I have no hard and fast publication date yet. I'm also working on a lighter paranormal mystery series and laughing my way through it - so there will be more fiction out in 2015. At least 3 novels and maybe more. I hope this helps and thank you for asking!
Mary Buckham Great question Donna and not an easy one to answer. My characters are real flesh and blood people to me (even the ones without blood) and are as real as the people I pass in the mall. I just get to let them loose on the page and then race after them, trying to keep up. As for the evil ones? I think my protagonists create the evil characters because they know who or what will push their buttons best. My challenge is to get out of Alex or Kelly's way and let them deal with the bad guys. Not easy. I want to protect them, but that makes for boring stories :-)
Mary Buckham Thank you AlysL! Means the world to me to have fans. Will never get over that amazing realization. Gives me tingles (good kind, not the coming-down-with-the-flu kind!). Fun question. I don't know if any of the characters are like me--they are more like the me I'd like to be if that makes sense. Who doesn't want to be brave when it's hard to be brave, to be responsible even when it hurts, to have the perfect comeback comment when you need it and not at 3am the following morning? I adore my characters because they allow me to feel larger than life. I hope you feel that way when you read them. As for the character most like my husband - I think the best elements of my male characters--being supportive even when they're shaking their heads, being a peer when I need that and a leader when I need that, seeing the possibilities when I can't, and being the safe shoulder I can lean against when needed--are all attributes of my husband. Oh, and the witty comments. That's all him. :-) Thanks for asking!
Mary Buckham Hi Loula! Thank you so much for your feedback. Best words an author could hear. I'm writing away on the next IR book. Will write faster :-) Thank you again!!!
Cheers ~ Mary B :-)
P.S. Do you have a favorite character? I'm always curious :-)
