Poetry is not so much an "idea" as it is a continuation of a process established over many years. I realize that I have more to say about the things I see and experience daily. Books are born slowly based on the past memories, present experience and future dreams.

By things I read, watch on TV or see at the movies and generally observations of the world around me. I have words and sentences pop into my head at any moment and that will spark a new poem. When I get plenty of sleep and quiet time to meditate the inspiration flows.

I have my second unpublished book in four contests for 2014. Making decisions on who will publish the second book in early 2015. I have three completed poetry books waiting to be published and writing more poems for the fifth book.

Follow your dreams to write and publish. Don't wait too long. Many people procrastinate and never complete their goals. You need to write regularly; that may be daily or several days per week. Enjoy the experience!

I love to write with a surprise ending that the reader isn't expecting. It is fun to take the reader and myself on a memorable journey. I write poems that I would want to read myself over and over. It's nice see the smiles from readers when they read my poetry. I like to hear their responses. It also allows me the opportunity to express myself on paper and to leave a mark on the world.

I watch movies, read, pay attention to details of the things I see and hear. At times I will daydream; however, that requires quiet time. I have to make time to do these things. I look up different words in the dictionary and think about how I can apply that to a topic; then I start writing. I look for new subject matter that I haven't written about. I experiment with new writing styles as well.
