Inspiration can come from anywhere - a rainstorm, a song, something someone said and especially a place. My first book idea came from the Key West shipwreck museum. The idea for the series came from the Trolley Tour. Songs that inspired Salvaged Love are Every Rose has its Thorn by Poison, Kiss you all Over by Exile, and Dance with Me by Orleans. Songs for Love Again are Passenger's Let Her Go and Nickleback's Far Away which puts me right into Theodore's frame of mind.
But the real magic is when the characters bring the inspiration. I was writing a scene between Max and Abby and he pulls out his father's pocket watch I didn't know anything about until that moment as I was writing.

I am currently working on the second novel in the Love in Key West series titled Love Again. This is the story of Betsy's quest for love after eight years of widowhood but falling in love again is just the beginning. Happily ever after is hard to find in the midst of the Great Seminole War.
