Sharif Khan I'm currently working on a new novel - an existential comedy.
Sharif Khan One of my all time favorites is Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment which I recently re-read. It’s a big book with big themes on madness, alienation, crime and morality. What stands out in my mind is no matter how superior one may think they are, if they commit a crime against another human being, they can never truly get away with it. Even if they are never caught, there’s always hell to pay.

Speaking of big books, I hope people will buy my epic fantasy novel, BRAVE FORTUNE, and leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads.

One reader described Brave Fortune as a page-turner – “Action adventure, dark fantasy, psychological intrigue…a treat for the mind.” ★★★★★

Sharif Khan The best thing about being a writer is the endless opportunities for adventure, learning and growth.
Sharif Khan If I encounter writer's block, I'll walk around the block, and sometimes that will unblock me. Other times, I will switch to research and reading up material related to the scene and brainstorm ideas, until the idea coalesces.

Sometimes I'll sleep on it and the problem will resolve in the morning. But perhaps the best way to cure writer's block is to WRITE! Just write a crappy scene and move on to writing the next scene. You can then go back and re-write the crappy scene better because you will have more knowledge about the story progression.
Sharif Khan You are forbidden to dream, or at least recall and discuss dreams. And attempting to do so can land you in the insane asylum, or worse. (A premise in my dystopian fantasy novel, BRAVE FORTUNE).
Sharif Khan My debut novel is titled, BRAVE FORTUNE, which comes from the Latin proverb, fortune favours the brave…fortune or luck tends to favour those who are bold and take chances and risks.

The inspiration for the novel was really a continuation of my fascination with the hero’s journey from my previous Hero Soul book. BRAVE FORTUNE in a way is and allegory of alchemy of transmuting base metal lead into gold through the purifying fire of suffering, struggle and sacrifice, and taking the concept to the next level.
