I love the gothic alternate realities of Neil Gaiman, Susanna Clarke and Erin Morgenstern. Planes of existence that lurk behind and beyond our own, and the ability to travel between them at will.
If I ended up in such a place, I'd totally be a side-character for many others' Hero's Journeys. Like an Ollivander of words and illustrations. Someone who keeps an odd old spellbookshop, and conjures swords and armour and fantastical beasties from other worlds for paying adventurers, from higher realms buried between the pages of an ever-moving library.

Hi Christian, thanks for your question (and for your fantastic review). Yes indeed, there will be a fourth Tabitha book in the future, though I'm currently working on other books in the meantime, so I can't say when just yet. But I enjoy writing Tabitha's universe too much to leave it at three books – especially when I know readers like yourself enjoy it too!

I'm still kind of an aspiring writer myself, so I'm not qualified to preach, but... I'd say make writing your entertainment after work. Get in a few hours each day, and soon enough you'll have a book ready to publish. Give up TV.

Making up stuff and getting paid for it! I'd write even if I had to pay for the privilege in life, but luckily my boss and fans of my fiction pay me. It's a great setup.
