My boys were my writer's block for years. I just couldn't get any work done due to lack of time and exhaustion, but these days they can be an inspiration as long as I can keep them away from my laptop.

Peace and quiet helps. I have two boys, 22 months and 5 years old, so I use any quiet time I can get to maximum benefit. On the other hand, I've gotten rather adept at writing while my youngest beats on my office door. The husband is never quick enough to pull him away.
